'“Tanyard Hill” is part of the Jack Daniel’s Special Release Single Barrel Series, highlighting barrels aged in the historic Tanyard Hill warehouses at the Lynchburg distillery. Made from the distillery’s rye mash bill of 70% rye, 18% corn, and 12% malted barley, the whiskey undergoes the Lincoln County Process before aging nearly a decade in new charred oak. Bottled at barrel proof (often 130–148 proof depending on the barrel), it delivers an intensely concentrated, spice-driven rye with deep oak and dark sweetness.'
Nose: The nose opens with dark fruit and sweet oak layered with caramel and vanilla, followed by deeper notes of brown sugar, chocolate, and ripe cherry that give the whiskey a rich, high-proof intensity.
Palate: Full-bodied and powerful, the palate shows bold rye spice alongside flavors of candied mint, dark chocolate, baking spice, and roasted grain, with dried fruit and charred oak adding depth and structure.
Finish: The finish is long and warming, carrying lingering clove, oak, and sweet tobacco notes balanced by subtle sweetness and spice.
